I was talking to a friend recently who told me she used to keep silk worms as pets. Yes, the little critters who spin silk out of their bums so we can make gorgeous material that shine and shimmer and cost a bomb. I was wondering how she ever got hold of enough mulberry leaves to feed them, unless she had Mulberry trees in her backyard! The question was answered in the next breath. She ran out of food and the critters died - poor things! Before they ever got to spin any silk cocoons too! So the moral of the story is to ensure you have lots of exotic food on hand if you want to keep exotic pets!

Asking for samples
Some of the best ways to find things to write about is to pick up promotional products from vendors or stores or just samples from counters. Not only does this help you test if a product will work well on you, it also gives you fodder. Not everyone has the thick skin to ask for samples at the counter so it pays to grow one. Just be polite but interested and ask if they can let you have a sample to try. Many times, they will oblige. They do want to sell a product after all and since we don't have a return policy here in Malaysia, samples are the best way to go. Try it for yourself and see!
